Anna Gainey, Députée - Notre-Dame-de-Grâce—Westmount

Anna Gainey is Team Trudeau's candidate in the riding of NDG-Westmount.

A dedicated community leader, she knows how to champion our priorities in Ottawa. For more than two decades, she has vigorously defended and promoted progressive values in government, public policy and our democracy.

She has served as political advisor to two Ministers of National Defence and Veterans Affairs, and as President of the Liberal Party of Canada, she helped elect the first majority Liberal government in 15 years. More recently, she was Executive Chair of Canada 2020, one of Canada's leading progressive think tanks.

She has also served on the boards of several local and national voluntary organizations, including War Child Canada, the Pointe-à-Callière Museum and the Montreal Heart Institute Foundation. She also founded the Gainey Foundation, which funds environmental and arts education programs for young people.

Anna is a graduate of McGill University and the London School of Economics. She has lived in NDG-Westmount with her husband, Tom, for over 15 years. In her spare time, it's not uncommon to see Anna at the rink cheering on her three hockey-loving children or coaching her daughter's soccer team.

As a Member of Parliament, Anna will defend the families of NDG-Westmount and  will work tirelessly to build a better future for our community.
