The Groupe régional d'intervention sociale (GRIS) Mauricie/Centre-du-Québec is a non-profit community organization dedicated to promoting greater awareness of sexual and gender diversity and facilitating the integration of LGBT+ people into society.
As with any struggle by a minority in society, integration can only be achieved by striving to eliminate ignorance, prejudice and stereotypes. School is the place where young people's values take shape, and where ignorance gives way to knowledge.
That's why GRIS-Mauricie/Centre-du-Québec has chosen to focus primarily on schoolchildren and young people, offering them its services to demystify sexual and gender diversity.
Our mission
Promote a better understanding of sexual and gender diversity, and make it easier for LGBT+ people to integrate into society.
Demystify LGBT+ realities through testimonials, in groups set up by school organizations, youth organizations, popular education organizations and seniors' groups, and participate in research projects conducted by the various GRIS groups and linked to demystification activities.
