The history of the site begins well before its hotel history. Indeed, almost 200 years ago, the building now known as the Inn was home to the Mabe, business people active in lobster processing and shipbuilding.

In the early 1970s, freshly expropriated Innkeeper Sidney Maloney of Bonaventure Island bought the building for tourists. He then annexed his house on the roadside.
This colorful descendant of Irish will give half of his soul to the Auberge du Coin du Banc, visible from afar with its green roof. Lise De Guire, his companion, will offer him the other half. This nurse, who became a hotelier, collects contemporary works of art, including those of Kittie Bruneau and Françoise Bujold, and will cover the walls of the inn.

Mr. Maloney died in 2000 and Ms. De Guire operated the inn for a final season in 2016, when she was 91.
While for years, the tourist sector of Percé holds its breath wondering if someone will buy the hostel and if he will have the reins strong enough to retype, Pascale Deschamps and Jean-François Tapp, Gaspésiens 34 and 37-year-old parents of three, tackle the challenge in 2017.

Their ambition is simple, honor the hotel heritage of Mr. Maloney and Mrs. De Guire and become a must for outdoor and adventure lovers visiting Gaspésie!
