The Gilmour Inn is an elegantly appointed bed and breakfast in the heart of Ottawa's centretown. The Edwardian brick home was built in the early 1900s and has a long and fascinating history: it has been a private residence, rooming house, furniture store, and most recently, the site of a popular restaurant.
Recently renovated from top to bottom, the Gilmour maintains the charm of the past with all the modern conveniences of a contemporary boutique hotel. With room for up to 13 guests in seven elegantly appointed rooms, your stay will be relaxing, comfortable and thoroughly satisfying.
As you climb the front steps, take note of the private courtyard to your left that affords a relaxing seating area during the warm summer months. Enter the inn through our red antique door and meet proprietor Richard Brouse at the front desk. Relax anytime in our charming living room with a large, south-facing picture window, lots of comfortable seating, a carved wood fireplace and a stunning crystal chandelier.
Connected to the living room is our formal dining area, a stately room filled with tasteful period furniture, making it perfect for small meetings or events. To the right, a larger informal seating area where breakfast is served makes a bright and cheerful start to your day in Ottawa.
Up the staircase to the right of the foyer you'll have access to the second and third floors, where you will stay in one of seven unique and charming rooms. Even the hallways are filled with beautiful antiques, art and objets d'art.
Five rooms have roomy queen beds, one a double and the last a twin. All rooms have private baths—five with ensuites and two with separate baths just steps across the hall. Four rooms have mini-fridges for your convenience. Other amenities include a shared laundry room, free Wi-fi, luxurious robes, satellite TVs, complimentary chocolates and bottled water, available cordless phones and parking spaces nearby. You'll feel right at home at the Gilmour.
